EVER WONDERED the cause for your
problems? The problems that seem to bog you down perennially, say, like the
elusive promotion or your child's failure to get a seat in Engineering/Medical
college. Blame it on numbers, and as P. Sanjeevan Nehru would like us to
believe, it is all in the name.
Never mind if your name acquires a
funny sound in the process, add an `a' here and an `o' there, and watch the
wheel of fortune turning your way. Numerology is gaining numero uno position
among people's priorities.Nehru insists that numerology has transformed the
lives of many politicians, film personalities, business houses and individuals.
One astounding success story is Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa's case,
where she came back to power after she added an extra `a' to her name on
Nehru's suggestion, he claims.
The Tirupati-based Nehru is a
practicing numerologist who gave up his post as designer engineer with BHEL and
put aside his training to design thermal power stations in Germany to pursue
politics. An active TDP leader in Chittoor district since the late NTR's time,
Nehru -- then named Shankaraiah - only faced disappointment and frustration in
his political ventures. "Despite my hard work I was never given a ticket
to contest election, whereas, people with no service to their credit, bagged
important positions. That made me wonder what is it that some people do to
enjoy good things in life, while others like me end up being losers. It dawned
on me, by my meticulous observation, that their names and numerology was
playing a strong role. So after reading a few books I experimented on the
theory by changing my name. Believe me, one day at 11.59 in the night I changed
my name and within eight hours my fate changed. I had buyers for my property in
Tirupati and the company I owned began to prosper," gushes Nehru.
His belief in numerology took an
upswing since then, and Nehru started changing the names of his friends and
family members and soon the word caught on. Today, Nehru is full time into
numerology with a clientele from his hometown Tirupati, Hyderbad,
Chennai,Bangalore and Delhi.
For the benefit of sceptics, Nehru
describes the logic behind numerology as `tapping the source from the Infinite
tank'. "Numerology is based on pure mathematical calculations. It was
Cheiro, a Norwegian who discovered the value of each of the 26 alphabets in
English. Using the alphabets and the date of birth of the individual, the
fortunes can be changed with slight corrections necessary to suit the
requirements. Date of birth and the name given to a person has to be in harmony
in case of an individual and the name in case of an organisation,"
explains Nehru.
Nehru attributes the success behind Bharatiya
Janata Party, Venkaiah Naidu, Bahujan Samaj Party, Miss World Priyanka Chopra
to their lucky numbers. He finds Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's name to be
also among the lucky ones, in fact Nehru himself changed his name to match with
CM's number. But, he finds `India', `Jammu & Kashmir', `Parliament', `Air
India', `Indian Airlines', `IDPL', all carry ill luck numbers. Nehru has been
confabulating with high-ups in Delhi to convince them to change names for all
these. He suggests `Bharat' to India. Has he made any progress? "Some
ministers in the NDA government are favourable to my idea," he says.
Nehru says he predicted that the
late Balayogi will die "falling from a height". "The late
Speaker hesitated, but then it was too late," he says. Film-makers are
queueing up to have their films named by him, according to Nehru.
If somebody has a grouse against
Nehru doing an effective job of changing people's fate's, it's his wife.
"Thanks to him, we do not have a domestic help or a watchman. He changed
their names and immediately our maid got a job in Muscat and pushed off, while
our watchman moved to a lucrative job," she says laughingly.
Nehru vouches his intentions are
only to make people's lives better. "If I can do my bit to change the
course of their destiny I'll be too happy to do it," he says. So what is
his next step? "Politics," he says. This time round, he's more
confident because he's got more fame, goodwill and more important, luck.
"I'm not ready to divulge the details yet, but within six months to one
year I'll be playing a strong political role. Sarvamanava Kalyanam will be my
purpose," says Nehru brimming with confidence and determination.
